Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

SPA therapists provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is an advanced form of psychotherapy that combines psychology with physiology in a way that allows a person to identify and ‘clear’ past traumatic events.  The effects of this intervention are fast and permanent. It incorporates elements of cognitive behavioral therapy with bilateral eye movements or other forms of rhythmic and left-right stimulation.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CBT has been proved to help treat a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions in adults, children and young people. There is a great deal of research evidence to show that CBT works effectively in treating mental illness and psychological disorders. This research has been carefully reviewed by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). NICE provides independent evidence-based guidance for the NHS on the most effective ways to treat disease and ill health. CBT is recommended by NICE for the treatment of mental illness and psychological disorders.
